The new NHS COVID-19 app, now available to download for free in England and Wales, is the fastest way to see if you're at risk from coronavirus. The faster you know, the quicker you can alert and protect your loved ones and community.

The app has a number of tools to protect you, including contact tracing, local area alerts and venue check-in. It uses proven technology from Apple and Google, designed to protect every user’s privacy

Prescription Requests
Please Note: From 28th September 2020 you will have to order repeat medication directly via your GP practice, not via your pharmacy or medical equipment supplier.  
We are no longer accepting telephone requests for prescriptions.  Please use one of the available apps i.e. patient access, you can mail your request to the surgery remember to address it to Abbey Road Surgery.  We have a drop of box in the main entrance of the building, please use the intercom for access or you can email your request to mbccg.prescriptionsabbeyroadsurgery@nhs.net please dont forget to include your name, DOB & with all requests please nominate your chosen chemist for collection.

Patient Access
Patient Access connects you to local health services when you need them most. Book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and discover local health services for you or your family via your mobile or home computer.  Register for patient access HERE

GP and Nurse appointments are available at evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays
These are available via Cumbria Health on Call.  To book an appointment, speak to your GP practice or call 03000 247 247.

Test Resultsblood_taking

If you have had a test carried out at the practice, you can find out the results approximately 4 to 7 days after the test. Some tests may take longer. Test results are received electronically at the practice but will need to be viewed and commented on by a doctor or nurse before they can be given out to the patient.

If your results have been received and seen by a clinician, the receptionist can give you the results over the telephone, or give you a message from the GP (such as whether you need a prescription, or need to make an appointment). If you wish to see someone about your result when it arrives, always ring the surgery before making an appointment to make sure that your results have been received.

If your test results are normal and do not require any action, we will not normally contact you. However, if there is some abnormality we will contact you and let you know what to do (please ensure that your contact details are always up-to-date).


You can telephone the surgery for test results 
between 13:00pm and 15:00pm Monday - Friday




Cervical cytology results (smears) will be posted to you directly from the testing centre. We usually receive your results at about the same time as you do. Please allow at least 4 weeks for these results to arrive.

Sometimes patients have investigations arranged by hospital consultants. We do not automatically receive these results at the surgery, however we may be able to access them if you request this.



Confidentiality

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
